This short film will help explore the joys and challenges of parenting Black children in Ontario.
We are pleased to partner with Oya Media Group to produce a short film that will explore the joys and challenges of parenting Black children in Ontario. The film and discussion guides will be shared with service providers, educators, child welfare workers, and others who would benefit from better understanding the experiences and challenges faced by Black parents.
We are currently seeking Black families with children under 18 who are interested in sharing their experiences in the film. We are seeking Black families from diverse backgrounds living in Ontario, including multigenerational families, lone parent families, LGBTQ+ families, and others. We are seeking families with children from all ages, from newborn up to 18 years, including children with special needs. And of course, we are seeking submissions from Black Ontarians from across the African diaspora as well as those whose families have been in Canada for generations.
Deadline for submissions has been extended to: January 27, 2020
